Redbridge Patrols Halt Dangerous Ride as Infant Found on Illegal Motorcycle

Police in Redbridge seized a Honda motorcycle this afternoon after officers discovered it being ridden illegally with a 1 year old child positioned on the front of the bike.

According to Redbridge Neighbourhood Team and Local DNO PC Rutter, officers were carrying out proactive patrols in the Mansell Park area when they stopped the motorcycle. The vehicle was subsequently seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

Police reported that the rider, a 17 year old male, had no licence or insurance. He has been formally reported for multiple traffic offences. Officers say both he and the young child were without helmets, prompting serious safety concerns.

A spokesperson for the Redbridge Neighbourhood Team said the incident highlights the dangers of illegal and irresponsible vehicle use in residential areas.

“We are committed to tackling this issue. We understand the impact that this type of behaviour has on residents.”

Local officers are urging members of the public to continue reporting community concerns, advising residents to call 101 for non-emergencies or 999 if an immediate threat or danger is present.
