Police Appeal After Construction Cones Thrown from Itchen Bridge Cause £5,000 in Damage
Police have released CCTV images of two individuals they wish to speak with following an incident in which construction cones were thrown from Itchen Bridge, causing significant damage to a property below.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Thursday, 4 September. At around 4:20am, a homeowner was startled awake by two loud thuds. Upon investigating, they discovered that two construction cones had pierced their roof after being hurled from the bridge. The damage caused is estimated to exceed £5,000.
Officers are now appealing to the public for help in identifying two individuals seen in the area at the time.
The individuals are described as:
• A white male, aged between 18 and 30, with dark hair. He was wearing dark trousers and possibly a grey jumper.
• A white female, also aged between 18 and 30, with shoulder-length brown hair. She was wearing either a white dress or a white top and shorts.
Police believe the pair may have information that could assist the investigation.
This was a reckless and dangerous act that could have caused serious injury or worse. Police are urging anyone who recognises the individuals in the CCTV image, or who may have witnessed the incident, to come forward.
