Man Charged with Manslaughter Following Death of Tia Langdon in Southampton

A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of 25 year old Tia Langdon in Southampton last week.

Emergency services were called to an address on Cuckmere Lane at around 2.45pm on Thursday, 28 August, after reports that a woman had suffered serious injuries. Tia Langdon, from Southampton, was transported to hospital but tragically died as a result of her injuries.

Following a police investigation into the incident, officers identified that two other individuals — a man and a woman — had been present at the property at the time of the incident.

After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, police confirmed that 18 year old Jaiden Hassan-Agard, of Stour Close, Southampton, has been charged in connection with Tia’s death.

Hassan-Agard, who police say is British-born and identifies as Mixed White and Black Caribbean, has been charged with eight offences in total, including:
• Manslaughter of Tia Langdon
• Making threats to kill
• False imprisonment
• Threatening with an offensive weapon in a private place
• Kidnap relating to the second female victim who was present at the address

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wednesday, 3 September.

Police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing as they continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is urged to contact Hampshire Constabulary.
