Man charged following assault in Blackfield

A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with an assault in Blackfield.

Jack David Cooper, of no fixed abode and originally from the New Forest, has today (Friday 6 February) been charged with Section 20 grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

The charges relate to a reported assault on a man in his 30s at Sainsbury’s on Hampton Lane on Saturday 23 August.

Cooper has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday 7 February).
