Man Arrested After Suspected Class A Drugs Found Hidden in Vape on Marchwood Bypass

A man has been arrested after police discovered a large quantity of cash and suspected Class A drugs concealed inside a vape device during a vehicle stop over the weekend.

The incident occurred shortly after 2pm on Saturday, 12 July, when Sergeant Wilshere of the Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team stopped an Audi travelling on the Marchwood Bypass.

Following a search of the vehicle and its driver, officers uncovered what is believed to be a significant amount of Class A drugs along with a large sum of money. The substances were reportedly hidden inside a vape, according to police.

A 34 year old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A. He has since been released on conditional police bail while further enquiries are carried out.

This latest arrest forms part of continued efforts by local officers to disrupt drug supply networks in the Waterside area and beyond.

Anyone with information related to drug activity in their community is urged to contact Hampshire Constabulary or report anonymously via Crimestoppers.
