Investigation Launched After Fire at Liners’ Industrial Estate

An investigation is underway following a significant fire at a building on the Liners’ Industrial Estate, which broke out yesterday afternoon (28 August).

Emergency services were called to the scene off Paynes Road, where fire crews worked to contain and extinguish the blaze. A police cordon remains in place today as investigators continue to examine the site.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and any CCTV footage that may help determine the cause of the fire.

“We are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of this incident,” a spokesperson said. “Along with attending the building, we are also carrying out enquiries to identify CCTV or any witnesses from the area at the time.”

Members of the public who were in the area at the time and may have seen anything suspicious are urged to come forward. Officers at the scene are available to speak with anyone who has concerns or information.
