Eastleigh Man Jailed for Over Three Years After Robbery and Burglary Spree

Date: 25 June, 2025

A 21 year old man from Eastleigh has been sentenced to more than three years in prison after admitting to multiple offences, including robbery, burglary with intent to steal, and attempted burglary.

Ryan Shah, of Meadow Lane, pleaded guilty to all charges when he appeared before Southampton Crown Court. The offences occurred in Eastleigh and Romsey in March.

The court heard that on Monday 24 March, Shah robbed a 17 year old boy on Derby Road, stealing a mobile phone and £50 in cash. For this offence, he was sentenced to two years and three months in prison.

He received a further 52-week sentence for a burglary committed on Thursday 20 March at a residential property on Cutforth Way, Romsey. On the same day, Shah also attempted to break into another nearby property. For this, he was handed a nine-week sentence, to be served concurrently.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Shah was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge and £50 compensation.

The case was led by Detective Constable Roseanna Simmons of the Criminal Investigation Department.

“I am so pleased to see Shah placed behind bars, where he belongs, and for a considerable length of time,” said DC Simmons. “He is now no longer able to steal from anyone else, and members of our community are much safer as a consequence of this sentencing.”

DC Simmons praised Shah’s victims for their courage and cooperation during the investigation, expressing hope that the outcome will aid in their recovery.

“This was a real team effort,” she added. “We’ve achieved this outcome due to the brilliant and combined efforts of CID, Eastleigh Neighbourhood Policing Team and Eastleigh Priority Crime Team.”
