Driver Caught in Totton During Operation Drive Insured
Police in Totton have seized another uninsured vehicle as part of Operation Drive Insured, a national campaign aimed at keeping uninsured drivers off the roads.
In the early hours of this morning, officers stopped a car in Totton after noticing it had a defective front light. Checks at the roadside revealed that the vehicle had no valid insurance.
“Another vehicle stopped without insurance means another driver facing six penalty points and a £300 fine,” an officer involved in the operation said.
The stop forms part of ongoing efforts to target uninsured drivers, who not only face penalties but also risk having their vehicles seized.
Police reminded motorists to ensure their vehicles are properly covered before taking to the road. “Remember to keep your vehicle insured,” the officer said. “Operation Drive Insured continues this week, and our officers will be out patrolling to keep uninsured vehicles off our roads.”
