A cocker spaniel named Lando was dramatically rescued by firefighters on Sunday morning (22 June) after becoming trapped in a deep reservoir in the New Forest.
The incident occurred just before 9:30am off Alderholt Road in Somerley, when on-call firefighters from Ringwood were alerted to the stranded dog. Lando had fallen into a 4-metre deep concrete pit and was unable to escape on his own.
Fire crews arrived swiftly and carried out the rescue operation. Despite the ordeal, Lando appeared uninjured and was safely reunited with his owner shortly after being pulled to safety.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the crew left the scene around 10:00am.
