CCTV Released as Police Investigate Hythe Waitrose Shoplifting
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify following a reported shoplifting incident at Waitrose on High Street, Hythe.
The theft is said to have taken place between 2.25pm and 2.40pm on Thursday, 18 September, during which around £300 worth of alcohol was reportedly stolen, including bottles of champagne and vodka.
Officers are looking to speak with a man described as:
• White
• Believed to be in his 30s
• Tattoo on his left thigh
• Wearing shorts, a baseball cap and a jacket
Police believe the man captured in the image may have information that could assist the investigation. They are urging him—or anyone who recognises him—to come forward.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, noticed suspicious activity in the area at the time, or has CCTV, dash cam or mobile phone footage that may help, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 44250423716. Reports can also be submitted online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.
