Appeal Launched After Fire at The Ship Inn, Lymington
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have issued a public appeal for information following a small fire at a popular pub in Lymington.
The incident occurred inside the men’s toilets at The Ship Inn, located on Quay Road, between 4.45pm and 5pm on Thursday 31 July. According to police, a fire was started in one of the cubicles, causing damage to the premises. Fortunately, the fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
As part of their ongoing investigation, officers have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. He was reportedly seen in the area at the time and was accompanied by three young children.
Police believe he may have important information that could assist with enquiries.
“We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows his identity, to get in touch with us,” said a spokesperson for Hampshire Police. “Also, if you witnessed anything of the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have any CCTV, mobile phone or dash cam footage which could aid our investigation, please contact us.”
