Appeal for Witnesses After Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Southampton Collision
Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Southampton that left a 19 year old motorcyclist with significant injuries.
The incident occurred at around 8.50pm on Friday, 31 October, on Bitterne Road East. A silver Suzuki motorbike travelling eastbound was involved in a collision with a Ford Mondeo and a Nissan Note, which were both heading westbound.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the motorcycle rider—a 19 year old man—was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains receiving treatment.
A 51 year old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash-cam footage to come forward.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said:
