Appeal for witnesses after fatal A272 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal collision on the A272 on Wednesday evening.

Officers were called just after 6pm on 18 February to reports of a collision on the A272 between Rodfield Lane and Owslebury.

The incident involved a silver Nissan X-Trail and a blue Suzuki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s from Hythe, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing. Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage showing either vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash.
