Three Arrested After Two-Vehicle Collision in Chandler’s Ford
Three people have been arrested following a two-vehicle collision in Chandler’s Ford on Tuesday evening (23 September).
Police were called just before 6:20pm to reports of a crash at the junction of Park Road and Merdon Avenue. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Officers reported that a man and two boys were travelling in one of the vehicles and failed to remain at the scene. The three were detained just as they were about to get into a taxi.
A 22 year old man from Southsea and a 16 year old boy from Eastleigh were arrested on suspicion of:
• Theft of a motor vehicle
• Failing to stop a mechanically propelled vehicle when requested by a constable
• Using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance
• Driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence
A 15 year old boy from Chandler’s Ford was arrested on suspicion of:
• Theft of a motor vehicle
• Failing to stop when directed by a constable
• Using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance
• Driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence
All three have been released on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.
The arrests and subsequent investigation involved officers and detectives from the Roads Policing Unit, District Policing Team, Criminal Investigation Department, Neighbourhood Policing Team, Priority Crime Team, and Custody Investigation Team.
