Police Appeal After Violent Robbery at Wareham Railway Station – Man Believed to Have Travelled From Southampton
British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses after a member of staff was violently attacked during a robbery at Wareham railway station.
The incident occurred at around 5.30pm on Monday, 22 September, when a man entered the ticket office, choked the staff member until they lost consciousness, stole money from the till, and stamped on the victim’s chest before leaving. The man is believed to have travelled from Southampton.
Detective Constable Phil James described the attack as “a serious and shocking incident involving an extreme level of violence against a member of rail staff.”
Police are urging anyone who saw the man enter the ticket office via the car park, or who was in the station at the time, to come forward with information.
