Man Sought in Connection with £12,000 Ring Theft from Southampton Jewellery Store

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man in connection with an incident at a jewellery store in Southampton.

The incident took place at around 4:30pm on Saturday, 5 July, at H. Samuel in Westquay Shopping Centre. According to reports, a man entered the store and engaged a staff member in conversation, asking to view several pieces of jewellery.

While being shown a selection of items, the suspect reportedly stole a ring valued at £12,000, discreetly placing it in his pocket without staff noticing. He then exited the store without making a purchase.

Police have released an image of a man they believe may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation. Officers are urging him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.

“We believe the man shown in this image may have information that could assist our investigation. We urge him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us,” said a spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.
