Police issue CCTV image after pensioner seriously injured in Thornhill assault

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following a serious assault on a man in the Thornhill area of Southampton.

The incident took place between 9pm and 10pm on Monday 2 March outside Nisa Local on Warburton Road in Thornhill.

According to officers, a man in his 70s was punched multiple times by another man during the attack. He suffered a serious facial injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators have now issued an image of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries.

He is described as a white male aged approximately 35 to 40 years old, around 5ft 8in tall, with a bald head and a goatee. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a dark blue gilet and a blue Adidas jacket.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the man or has information about the assault to come forward.

Officers have also encouraged witnesses or anyone with relevant footage from the area at the time to make contact as enquiries continue.
