Man Arrested After Knife Found During Police Deployment in Winchester

A man has been arrested after officers discovered a knife during a police deployment in Winchester yesterday evening.

Officers from the District Priority Team were called to an address on Winnall Manor Road at around 8.45pm on 11 March, following reports that a group of people were attempting to gain access to a property.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 25-year-old man from Eastleigh in the stairwell of the building. A proactive search was carried out, during which officers found a knife.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
